Cancer, Work & Employment: call for scientific papers for a symposium organised by the Institute

The National Cancer Institute is organising a symposium on the theme “Cancer & Work”, from 21 to November 23 2022, at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie. This symposium will include an international scientific conference on November 21 and 22 and a day for the general public on November 23. A call for papers has been launched as part of the “Cancer, Work&Employment” scientific days.

Every year in Europe, more than two million working-age people are diagnosed with cancer. The onset of the disease significantly impacts individuals’ personal and professional lives. Therefore, priorities are to improve access, retention, return, and quality of life at work for people affected by cancer.

Following the European Meetings of the French National Cancer Institute, the INCa is organising a two-day scientific conference, on November 21 & 22, 2022, in person, at the "Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie" (Paris), on the theme “Cancer, Work & Employment”, in conjunction with a day open to all, on November 23, bringing together various French actors involved on this topic.

With the participation of international scientific experts, the scientific conference provides an opportunity for researchers to present and discuss current studies and future directions. Willing to exchange on empirical studies, a call for papers is launched to allow researchers to present their project through a poster, an oral presentation or a symposium.

Studies in Social & Human Sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health and Interventional Research are expected, especially on 4 prioritized axes:

  • Cancer, Work & Employment: Overview of the situation
  • Cancer & Employment : Legislation
  • Cancer & Work: Return and access to work, maintenance of work and impact of cancer at work
  • Cancer, Work & Employment and Health disparities: The diversity of occupational trajectories

You are invited to submit your abstract by June 10.
